KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Pam Binder is an award winning and New York Times Bestselling author. Publishers Weekly has said: “Binder gracefully weaves elements of humor, magic and romantic tensions into her novels”. Drawn to Celtic legends and anything Irish or Scottish, Pam blends historical events, characters and myths into everything she writes. Pam is also the President of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association, a conference speaker, and an instructor, teaching the year-long series, Write Your Story and After The First Draft. Pam is an Indie author, writes for Kindle Worlds, and has a six book contract with Wild Rose Press for her Matchmaker Cafe series. 

Carolyne Wright's ground-breaking anthology, Raising Lilly Ledbetter: Women Poets Occupy the Workspace (Lost Horse Press, 2015), received ten Pushcart Prize nominations and was a finalist in the Foreword Review's Book of the Year Awards. She has nine poetry volumes, five books of poetry in translation, and a collection of essays; and has received Fulbright, NEA, 4Culture, and Seattle Arts Commission fellowship, among others.  She teaches for Richard Hugo House, Seattle's community literary center, for the Antioch University Los Angeles MFA Program, and for literary conferences and festivals around the country. Besides writing, teaching, and literary / social / environmental activism, Wright's passions include Zumba and Afro-Brazilian dance; and she has been brushing up on Portuguese in preparation for a return visit to Bahia on an Instituto Sacatar residency fellowship.

Sunday August 20th will be held at Mid Columbia Library's Kennewick Branch.

SCHEDULE

This has been a big year of exciting growth and changes for Rivers of Ink. We are thrilled to bring you this year’s program of events. A quick overview:

Friday and Saturday will be held at Richland Public Library, and feature two full days of speaker workshops. Sunday will be a half-day workshop at Kennewick Mid-Columbia Library. Friday and Saturday are registration required and Sunday is free even if you didn’t attend the other days of the conference. 

Registration for Friday and Saturday can be single day or both days. Lunch, provided by Graze, is included in the price. Sunday will have light snacks provided. 

This year will feature a poetry and flash fiction contest sponsored by the Mid-Columbia Library. It’s free to enter. Find out more details [here]. Winners will be announced on Sunday of the conference.
